Sirana Software Announces Sirana SpamCenter
REDMOND, WA — November 30, 2004 —Sirana Software announced today the release
of Sirana SpamCenter, an end-user spam self-management solution for Exchange Server
2003.
Sirana SpamCenter works with the spam archives created by Exchange 2003's Intelligent
Message Filter. Messages that are identified as spam are automatically added to
a database, eliminating spam message buildup on the Exchange server. Users
can then securely browse their quarantined messages through a web interface.
They can release messages that were blocked in error, eliminating the need for manual
intervention by administrators. Users can also build personal Safe Sender
lists and Blocked Sender lists to manage their quarantines automatically.
“The Exchange Intelligent Message Filter is a great tool for Exchange 2003 users,”
said Chris Williams, president of Sirana Software. “However, it lacks the management
features required to make it a true anti-spam system. Sirana SpamCenter dramatically
reduces administrative costs and headaches, while allowing users to gain greater
control over their blocked messages.”
Enhanced Messaging Management
Sirana SpamCenter benefits users by providing them with convenient, safe access
to messages that have been blocked by the Exchange message filter. Users are often
the best judge of what is spam for them. By managing their own spam quarantine,
they can reduce the overall cost to an organization. Users can also simultaneously
manage multiple mailboxes, including shared mailboxes such as sales@mycorp.com.
Administrators benefit because they can set policies by which users can view and
manage their blocked messages. Spam messages can often contain dangerous or
objectionable content, and administrators can prevent users from viewing this material.
Administrators can also view real-time reports on spam activity, including top senders
and receivers, allowing them to enhance their spam blocking activities.
Sirana SpamCenter tightly integrates with an organizations' Exchange infrastructure,
including the Exchange SMTP messaging system, Active Directory, SQL Server and Windows
Server. This integration makes deploying and using Sirana SpamCenter easy and inexpensive.
Sirana AppReports Pricing and Availability
Sirana AppReports is priced per mailbox, beginning at $395 for 10 mailboxes. Sirana
SpamCenter is available now from Sirana Software and its partners. A 30-day trial
version can be downloaded from the Sirana website at http://www.sirana.com.
